The recommendations of the machine builder should always override the above torque guidelines.

Retention Knob Inspection • Log the date of installation on the log sheet(s) starting on page 119 • Include retention knob inspection in your monthly preventa tive maintenance program • Regularly inspect retention knobs for any signs of wear. If you notice any signs of wear, replace your retention knob. • If gripper finger or ball marks are visible on the top of the retention knob, the retention knob should be replaced. • Change O-rings as part of your preventative maintenance • Store retention knobs in their original case to ensure that they do not get dented or nicked.
